In doubles two players each play against each other, either in men’s, women’s or mixed doubles.

The same basic rules apply as for singles with following special features:

The serve in doubles is played diagonally.

The ball must be served diagonally to the left so from the right side of the table to the right side of the opposite table side.

During the rally the players have to play the ball alternately – in contrast to tennis.
